Our story
Before Masseys Back 40, there was Butchies. Before Butchies, there was the Golden Horseshoe. This corner of Dubois has stories to tell.

Butchie and Diane’s saloon opened on the same property in Dubois.
That October, Butchie’s Western Saloon & Family Restaurant opened. Larry Bird joined the ribbon-cutting—a detail recorded in the local paper’s account.
On August 16, Butchie served his 50,000th steak: a Cowpuncher. His handwritten tally tracked how each steak was cooked.
Carry on the home-cooked meals and hometown welcome. Add live music, karaoke, and new ways to gather. That’s the vision for Masseys Back 40.
